My child is currently at a non-Catholic elementary school, will this hurt his/her chances of being accepted to a Catholic high school? Each school has its own criteria for admissions. In general, attendance at a non-Catholic elementary school should not be a factor in acceptance.
My child is enrolled in a non-Catholic elementary school, how does the application process work for him/her? The application for 8th grade is the same as for Catholic elementary school students. The only difference is that parents will deal directly with the high school of choice, delivering necessary items by the due dates, rather than going through the elementary school.
I’m not sure if I can afford a Catholic high school for my child, but would like to try. Are there scholarships or financial aid available for me to check out? In addition to the Champions of Education assistance program through the Archdiocese of New Orleans, each school has financial assistance programs in place to help those who may qualify for aid.
My child can’t decide on only one school to apply to, can’t I send his/her application to multiple? Only one school may be applied to at a time. As a student learns that they are not accepted to the inital school applied for, he/she only then may apply to other schools.
The school my child is applying to has its own application, do I still need to do the Archdiocesan one if I do the school’s? The archdiocesan application must be completed for any student applying to the 8th grade, even if the school of choice has an additional application.

The archdiocesan admissions policy only applies to those students registering for 8th grade. Students transferring to high school for 9-12 grade need to apply directly to the school of choice.
My child didn’t get accepted into his/her selected high school and I stated on the application that I didn’t want other schools viewing his/her records, what are our options now? At this time, he/she may apply to another school, but will not receive an invitation.
